Typical weather
Subtropical climate — hot, humid summers with highs typically in the low 90s°F and frequent afternoon thunderstorms June–September; mild winters rarely dropping out of the 60s°F. Hurricane season runs June 1–November 30.
Transit
Tri-Rail runs the length of the county along the CSX corridor with stops in West Palm Beach, Lake Worth Beach, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, and Boca Raton, continuing south to Fort Lauderdale and, since a January 2024 extension, into downtown Miami. Brightline adds higher-speed intercity service from stations in West Palm Beach and Boca Raton to Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Orlando. Palm Tran runs the county's local bus network, including Go Glades, an on-demand (not fixed-route) shuttle serving Belle Glade and the rest of the Glades for a $2 one-way fare (Tri-Rail; Brightline; Palm Tran).
Home teams
No major professional sports franchise is headquartered in Palm Beach County year-round, but it hosts Major League Baseball spring training for four clubs at two stadiums: Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter (Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals, sharing the site since 2002) and CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, formerly the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches (Houston Astros and Washington Nationals, since 2017). The Norton Museum of Art and Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach; Worth Avenue and the Flagler Museum in the Town of Palm Beach; the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach; PGA National Resort and the Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens; John D. MacArthur Beach State Park in North Palm Beach; and Lion Country Safari, a drive-through safari park in unincorporated Loxahatchee near Wellington (Lion Country Safari).
Airport
Palm Beach International Airport -- officially renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport in mid-2026, with its IATA code changing from PBI to DJT -- is the county's commercial airport, in West Palm Beach. It carried roughly 8.66 million passengers in 2025, up 3.0% year-over-year, and is described as the third-busiest airport in the Miami metropolitan area behind Miami International and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (PBIA; Wikipedia). Drive times run roughly 15–25 minutes from most Urban/Central and South County places, and up to an hour from Belle Glade.
