National Weather Center (Norman)
The National Weather Center, on the University of Oklahoma's Norman campus since it opened in 2006, is a 250,000-square-foot building that puts NOAA's Storm Prediction Center — the national center responsible for tornado and severe thunderstorm watches across the continental United States — in the same building as the National Weather Service's own Norman forecast office, the Radar Operations Center that maintains the nationwide NEXRAD radar network, and OU's School of Meteorology.
