Outdoor & Nature
A drive-through safari park with the same accreditation standard as a traditional zoo, and a working animal hospital built specifically for sea turtles — two facilities well past a standard county park or nature preserve.
Lion Country Safari
Lion Country Safari, in Loxahatchee, is accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) and participates in AZA Species Survival Plan breeding programs — the same rigorous accreditation standard held by roughly 238 of the country's approximately 2,800 animal exhibitors, applied here to a drive-through format rather than a walking zoo.
Loggerhead Marinelife Center
Loggerhead Marinelife Center, in Juno Beach, has run a sea turtle rehabilitation hospital for more than three decades on a "rescue to release" model — sick and injured turtles are treated and returned to the ocean once medically cleared. Its hospital includes a surgical suite, CT scanner, X-ray imaging, a blood-work lab, an endoscope, and ultrasound capability, a level of dedicated wildlife-hospital infrastructure that's genuinely rare outside a handful of marine-science centers nationwide.
