Medical Specialty Care

Two designations that don't exist at a typical community hospital: a verified Level I Trauma Center and a direct affiliation with South Florida's only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center.

Every item on this page clears one bar: not commonplace, not everywhere. These are real, named resources with an actual verified designation, accreditation, or documented distinction — not a generic "has a hospital" or "has a shelter" list. A shorter, accurate list beats a padded one, the same honesty standard used throughout this site.
Level I Trauma Center, one of four in South Florida

Delray Medical Center

Delray Medical Center operates one of only four Level I Trauma Centers in South Florida and is the Level I center most readily accessible to Palm Beach County residents, having advanced from a Level II designation after six years at that level. It runs separate adult and pediatric trauma intensive care units and continuing trauma research, the full commitment a Level I designation requires.

Affiliated with South Florida's only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center

Jupiter Medical Center

Jupiter Medical Center is affiliated with the University of Miami Health System's Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center — South Florida's only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, one of 71 nationwide — giving North County patients local access to bone marrow transplants, CAR T-cell immunotherapy, proton therapy, and Sylvester's own clinical trials, coordinated through dedicated nurse navigators rather than requiring a drive to Miami for that level of care.
