The Tampa Bay Lightning won back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 2020 and 2021 — the 2020 title claimed in the empty-arena, bubble-format playoffs held during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tampa Bay Rays

Tropicana Field, the Rays' home in St. Petersburg, is the only ballpark in Major League Baseball with catwalks suspended over the field of play, governed by their own in-stadium ground rules for a ball that strikes one mid-flight. The Rays returned to Tropicana Field for the 2026 season after playing their 2025 season at Tampa's Steinbrenner Field while storm damage from Hurricane Milton was repaired.

Tampa Bay Rowdies

The Tampa Bay Rowdies, now playing in the USL Championship out of Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, carry the name and identity of the original 1970s North American Soccer League Rowdies, who won the first-ever NASL Soccer Bowl in 1975 — one of the few American pro soccer clubs whose modern identity traces directly back to that era.
