Intel Chandler / Ocotillo Campus (Fab 42)
Chandler is home to two Intel manufacturing campuses that together make Intel the city's largest employer, with roughly 12,000 workers -- Intel's second-largest site in the country. The flagship Fab 42, a $5 billion facility completed in 2013, connects to the site's other fabs via an enclosed bridge known internally as 'the Link,' and NXP Semiconductors and Chandler-headquartered Microchip Technology add several thousand more chip-industry jobs to the same few square miles.
TSMC Arizona (Fab 21)
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's north Phoenix campus began high-volume production at its first Arizona fab in 2025, fabricating advanced logic chips on U.S. soil for customers including Apple. TSMC has expanded its committed Arizona investment multiple times since construction began in 2021, with total pledged spending across several fabs, an advanced-packaging facility, and an R&D center reported in the tens of billions of dollars -- among the largest single foreign manufacturing investments in U.S. history.
Cactus League
Fifteen of Major League Baseball's 30 teams -- exactly half the league -- hold spring training in the Phoenix metro area each year, playing across stadiums in Mesa, Scottsdale, Tempe, Peoria, Goodyear, Surprise, and Glendale. The Cactus League generates more than $300 million a year in regional economic impact, with over $500 million invested in stadium construction and renovation since teams began consolidating in Arizona.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
Sky Harbor served about 51.6 million passengers in 2025, making it the 11th-busiest airport in the United States and marking the first time the airport topped 50 million annual passengers. The Wall Street Journal ranked it the best airport overall among the 20 largest U.S. airports in both 2019 and 2023, citing short security waits and fast taxi-to-takeoff times.
Honeywell Aerospace
Honeywell's Aerospace division is headquartered in Phoenix, and the surrounding Valley hosts many of the company's avionics and mechanical-systems manufacturing facilities. It is one of a small number of true aerospace-industry headquarters located in the Phoenix metro, rather than just a satellite plant of a company based elsewhere.
Phoenix Raceway
Phoenix Raceway in Avondale served as the host track for NASCAR's Cup Series championship race every November from 2020 through 2025 -- the sport's single most important race of the year. The facility also runs a full annual slate of NASCAR Xfinity, Truck Series, and ARCA Menards Series events.
Boeing Mesa (AH-64 Apache Production)
Boeing's Mesa facility, adjoining Falcon Field, builds the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter and is the city's third-largest employer with nearly 4,000 workers. The plant traces its roots to Falcon Field's founding as a WWII-era Royal Air Force pilot-training base.
