Homes for Sale in Inman Park, Atlanta

Atlanta's first planned suburb, built in the 1880s around a streetcar line — Victorian mansions and bungalows now sit a short walk from Krog Street Market and the ever-changing street art of Krog Street Tunnel.

What Inman Park is actually like

Inman Park was developed in the late 1880s by civil engineer Joel Hurt as Atlanta's first planned suburb, laid out with curvilinear streets and connected to downtown by one of the city's first electric streetcar lines. The neighborhood declined for decades once cars let wealthier residents move further out, but a restoration movement took hold in the 1970s, starting with the Beath-Dickey House, and the neighborhood's original character survived largely intact.

That history shows in the housing stock: Victorian mansions face streets alongside early-20th-century bungalows, foursquares, and mill-town shotguns. Krog Street Market, a food hall built into a former warehouse, anchors the neighborhood's southern edge next to the Krog Street Tunnel — a graffiti-covered underpass that's repainted constantly and has become one of Atlanta's most-photographed spots. Inman Park has carried official City of Atlanta Historic District status since 2002, meaning exterior renovations, additions, and demolitions go through a Certificate of Appropriateness review by the city's Urban Design Commission — one of the stronger protections against out-of-character redevelopment among Atlanta's intown neighborhoods.
